Building Trust Together: Reflections from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum (APTFF) x Paperless Trade Week 2026

As we mark another stepping stone on our TradeTrust journey, we’d like to thank you for joining our session at AI, Blockchain and Digital Public Infrastructure: Building Trusted Digital Trade.
Held as part of the UNESCAP APTFF x PTW 2026, it was an insightful session advancing discussions on the role of legal frameworks and interoperability in digital trade. A special thank you to our guest speakers, Soo Hyun Kim from UNESCAP, Jin Hui from Beijing Two Zone, Lingraj Mahanand from Credore and Desmond Tay from Raindea for generously sharing their insights and experiences.

The session reinforced a shared conviction: the future of digital trade is not a single dominant platform, but an open ecosystem of interoperable systems built on common standards – MLETR, UNCITRAL model laws, and shared principles for digital identity and document authenticity. In our session, Ken Wei Chng from IMDA Singapore further reinforced the importance of embracing openness and trust in trade,
Enter yWe are building the infrastructure for what comes next - not just paperless trade but trusted, AI-ready trade. The future of trade will not be determined by platforms with the greatest reach but by those that enable the most trusted connections across them.— Ken Wei Chng, IMDA

From India's work on electronic Bills of Lading to the landmark China–Singapore B2B pilot, the session also highlighted the meaningful progress already underway, and how further collaboration across borders, sectors, and platforms can sustain it.
We look forward to continuing this work with partners across the region, building an open, connected, and trusted future for global trade.
