How TradeTrust can help in Shipping & Logistics
TradeTrust facilitates:
Cargo Shipments
Ships are estimated to transport around 80 percent of goods.
According to the Digital Container Shipping Association, "The bill of lading is one of the most important trade documents in container shipping. It functions as a document of title, receipt for shipped goods and a record of agreed terms and conditions. Ocean carriers issue around 45 million bills of lading a year. In 2021, just 1.2% of these were in electronic format."
By digitising bills of lading with TradeTrust, as an issuer, carriers can enable system interoperability and platform-agnostic, seamless data exchange with your supply chain partners for trusted transactions. Any revocation of documents can be easily managed too.
Automated cargo releases can be facilitated by accepting digitally surrendered bills of lading, ensuring enhanced security through identity and authenticity checks.
The same electronic bills of lading can be used for trade compliance and cross-border cargo shipping arrangement by logistics service providers for downstream supply chain operations. They can also be used for trade financing between financial institutions and exporters/importers.Cargo Release
Through the endorsement chain, the ownership and holding of electronic bills of lading can be traced in real-time, ensuring the release of goods to the right party.
